Another day goes by and I still don’t know when I last spoke to the people on my list.
I know I need to get a hold of them.
I know they deserve an update.
I know that we’ve almost got things ready for them — Kyle, Megan… I’m looking your direction.
Yep I can look it up.
In my email.
Or in my LinkedIn.
Or in my SMSs.
The information I need is available.
And right now (I just checked), I have 397 unread emails in my inbox.
397!
It’s not a feat to get them unread… I can do that whenever I want.
The feat is finding the communications that matter.
If you lead a team and sales people have gotten ahold of your info… well voila cold sales in your inbox.
These people are good at it.
Good enough that I read one irrelevant email a day on most days.
Still it would be useful to know when I last spoke to the most important people I’m working with right now.
Call it a failing if you want.
When you have things to deliver, you work on getting them done.
That’s where we are right now.
End game of delivering our MVP.
So that’s what get’s my attention.
I’ll get with everyone soon (next couple of weeks for sure).
And wouldn’t it be nice if the activity data was just available for you across all the places that you have that activity?
Instead of having to look in 3 different channels (email, sms, LinkedIn DM)?
And what exactly did we talk about?
If Jeremy had to talk to them, could he carry the relationship forward?
I think we can agree that it would be a lot of work.
Hmmm…
Seems to me that tthis is exactly why we started working on RIDL.
