Clicking export here.

Clicking import there.

Moving data between systems.

Export from a source.

Import into a destination.

The data that winds up in the destination is only as good as the data in the source.

AND

Maybe even worse… you had to do the work.

You moved the data.

You clicked export.

You clicked import.

You mapped the fields.

You fixed it again and again when it erred out.

And you spent your time making it all happen.

When I say, “You are the customer data pipeline.“

This is what I’m talking about.

A pipeline moves things from point A to point B.

Your house has one… it moves water from the water connection to the tap.

You hot water heater is a place in that pipeline where a transformation happens.

And your tap can use that to give you a new result… heated water.

You are acting as the transformer when you clean that data up in ANY way.

And that takes hours for most people.

If you want to speed that up, it takes more than just a data moving tool (which are great btw!).

You need to commit to getting this done and done right.

What does that look like?

First figure out how to automate the transformation. If that’s the date formatting, then it’s the date formatting.

Ask yourself, what problems do we have in this data all the time?

Answer that and then find a tool that helps with that problem.

We have a client how specifically said that their #1 data hygiene problem is getting the dates in the data consistently formatted…

Why? Because when they go to import that data into the CRM it chokes on it… EVERY SINGLE TIME.

So find a tool to solve that problem. One that includes automation. Bring AI into the work flow if it’s more complex than insert quarter, press start.

Then build the process to automate export from A → transform → import B.

This is a data pipeline.

For customer data, it’s more complex than…

Get data from Typeform and move it to HubSpot with Zapier.

But that is one way to pollute your CRM.

That is if you don’g want to have clean, reliable data.
